Recipe Kit “the App” provides a recipe card / blog creation service “the Service” to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.
Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we are able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

“Read Products” : used to attach products to recipe ingredients

“Read Themes” : used to find your currently active theme, for app installation

“Write Themes” : used to install Recipe Kit code snippets onto your currently active theme
- "Read / Write Content" : used to create new blog posts, and modify existing blog posts (to attach the recipe card to specified blog post)
Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information from you once you have installed the App:
- Your Shopify store domain, email, name, plan, country, city, and address
When a customer rates one of your store's recipes, we collect the following information from the customer, used strictly for spam reduction. This information is not shared, or used in any other manner within the app.
- Customer rating, and customer IP address
If you enable the recipe analytics feature (optional - off by default), we also collect the following information from your store customers:
- Customer IP address
- The recipe they are viewing, and the duration they are on the page
- Their behaviour (adding a product to cart), and the product they are interacting with on the recipe card
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Service and to operate the App.
The recipe analytics feature (optional - off by default) uses the collected data to help you better understand how your customers are using your recipe blog posts, and whether they are purchasing products from the recipe cards or not.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We do not share any of your, nor your customer’s personal information with anyone.
Your Rights
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you, or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
Data Retention
After uninstalling the App, we keep your recipe and all other store data for 48 hours. After 48 hours has passed, we remove all traces of this data from our database. There is no way to recover this data after deletion.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
